Signs Of Labor

Think you may go into labor soon? Have you had symptoms of labor? Our very own nurse practitioner, Anna Reynolds, explains the signs of labor in this list.

· Lightening, the sensation that the fetus has dropped lower and the head settles deep in your pelvis.

· Loss of mucus plug or increase in discharge that’s clear, pink, or bloody.

· Rupture of Membranes. The fluid -filled amniotic sac that surrounds the fetus during the pregnancy breaks. This may cause you to feel the fluid trickle or gush from your vagina.

· Cervical dilation

· Contractions. As your uterus contracts, you may feel pain in your back or pelvis. True labor contractions happen in a regular pattern and get closer together. True labor contractions continue even when you rest or move.
